"So nice, I had to do it twice! Second time down to visit and staying here for my Mid-Winter Reset. The first visit I stayed in the other listing and all things considered Ms. Dolorita and Hilda do not skip a beat. End-of-year work obligations really took a toll this year and the level of hospitality Hilda extended when booking my stay was unmatched. Everything is just as described; the bed is VERY comfortable—I slept like a baby! The best part of the day was running into and chatting with Ms. Dolorita on my way out to enjoy the island. She embraces you like family and holds a wealth of knowledge about St. Croix. I went back to The Buccaneer and Shoys Beach again and I did WALK; it's an unpathed trek but doable if you want to get your steps in (15 minutes tops). She is extending parts of her home to guests as this listing is owner-occupied. It's like coming home to see "Auntie"—you get the warmth of the island and warmth in your host all in one. I'll be back!"
